The DRC supports and promotes the mitzvah of bikur cholim by encouraging care, visitation, and assistance for those facing illness and medical challenges. Working alongside Bikur Cholim of Dallas and other community partners, DRC member rabbis help connect individuals and families with resources, meals, transportation, hospital visitation, and practical support during times of need.
Strengthening Our Community Through Chesed
Caring for the ill is one of the most cherished expressions of chesed in Jewish life. Throughout the Dallas Orthodox community, individuals and families facing illness benefit from a network of volunteers, congregations, and communal organizations that provide comfort, encouragement, and practical assistance during difficult times. Whether through hospital visits, meal preparation, transportation, prayer support, or simply being present for someone in need, the mitzvah of bikur cholim strengthens both the individual and the community as a whole.
A central role in these efforts is played by Bikur Cholim of Dallas, whose volunteers work tirelessly to support patients and their families. Through a wide range of services, the organization helps ease the burdens that often accompany illness, ensuring that community members receive both practical assistance and emotional support when they need it most. Their dedication reflects the Torah values of compassion, dignity, and responsibility for one another that are at the heart of a strong Jewish community.
The Dallas Rabbinical Council is committed to supporting these efforts and helping connect individuals and families with appropriate resources. Community members who are facing medical challenges, know someone in need of assistance, or would like guidance regarding pastoral care, hospital visitation, or communal support are encouraged to reach out. Working together with Bikur Cholim of Dallas and local congregations, the DRC seeks to ensure that no member of our community faces illness alone.
